How do I Search for a property?
You can search directly from the holidayrentsabroad.com home page. Simply choose a country and region from the drop down boxes on the home page and click search in order to find a property.
Sample Property Summary Listing
Properties matching your search criteria will be displayed (as above in the sample property summary listing) and shall have a summary of the property details including, location, property type, photo, how many it sleeps, distances to the beach and nearest airport, price region and the property ID. To view full details on a particular property, click on the property photo or the MORE link. An Advanced Search option is available should you wish to be more specific in your search. How does 'Add to Shortlist' work?
Included in every property advertisement is a facility called Add to Shortlist. Clicking on this will enable you to save all your preferred holiday homes in a shortlist so that you don't have to search repeatedly for your favourite homes every time you enter the holidayrentsabroad.com website. So, anytime you visit holidayrentsabroad.com you will be able to view and/or edit your shortlist by clicking on the My Shortlist link on the menu.
What is Late Availability?
Late Availability means the website will display all properties that are still available for last minute rentals (i.e. available within the next 3 weeks).
How will the property owner respond to my enquiry?
Once you have selected a holiday home and sent an email enquiry to the owner directly, you should receive a response from the property owner within 2 days. If, after two days you still have not received a reply, please contact us and we will arrange to make contact with the owner on your behalf. Please be sure to include your correct email address and phone number (incl. Country code) so that the owner can make contact with you.
How do I arrange payment for a booking?
Usually, there is a deposit or advance payment required of between 20-50% of the total rents payable. About 6 weeks to 1 month prior to arrival, payment of the balance becomes due. You may also be asked to pay a bond or refundable deposit with the final payment or upon arrival to cover any damage to the contents of the property. Some owners will request that you pay by bank transfer or send them a cheque. Many have now begun to use a PayPal account so that clients can make payments by Credit Card. In all circumstances, transfer fees and charges are paid by the renter. If there are no damages, the bond or refundable deposit will be returned at departure time or within some agreed period afterwards.
How will I know if the property owner is genuine?
Firstly, all property owners are registered with holidayrentsabroad.com and are required to comply with strict regulations that they must accept before they are allowed to add any property to our website. Secondly, property owners must pay annual fees to holidayrentsabroad.com one year in advance to advertise their properties. Thirdly, you can contact the owner by telephone to assess if they are genuine and to make sure you feel comfortable doing business with them. In the unlikely event that we receive complaints, the matter will be fully investigated and, if necessary, the property owner will be reported to the relevant authorities and deleted immediately from our website. It is impossible to give a one hundred percent guarantee that nothing will ever happen because, despite best efforts, there is always a chance that something can go wrong. We at holidayrentsabroad.com have made every effort through our registration process, our property listing process, our payments process and our monitoring process to reduce the likelihood of any attempt to defraud. We will continue to be vigilant and to stamp out any attempt by anybody using our website to act in a fraudulent manner.
